Our take for buyers

Odoo is a modular open-core ERP and business app suite, hosted by Odoo or self-run. It fits small companies that start with one free app and teams comfortable with partner or Success Pack onboarding. It is a poor fit for Odoo Online users who need custom or App Store modules, because those are not supported on Odoo Online, so check that first.

G2 shows 4.3 from 318 reviews. Support is by email, Monday to Friday, in English, French, Spanish or Dutch, and is included in all plans. Onboarding depends on size: Success Packs for companies under 50 employees, partners for mid-size, and Odoo directly above 250 employees. Implementation prices are not published.

What to test in an Odoo demo or trial

Decide first which apps you need, because a second app ends the free plan and moves you to Standard. Then list any custom modules or App Store apps you rely on: they are not supported on Odoo Online, so a trial there will not prove them out. If you need Studio, multi-company or the external API, test on Custom, since those are not on Standard. Ask a partner or Success Pack contact what your onboarding scope and cost would be, and check whether email-only support, Monday to Friday, meets your needs.

Questions to ask Odoo before you sign

These are the points Odoo's public pages leave open. Get the answers in writing before procurement signs off.

  1. Which plan includes SAML SSO, and what does it cost for our seat count?
  2. Is SCIM provisioning included, or a paid add-on?
  3. Which plan includes audit logs, and how long are they kept?
  4. Where is our data stored, and can we choose the region?
  5. Can we sign your standard DPA without changes?
  6. Is there a monthly option, and what are the cancellation and renewal terms?
  7. What will the price be at renewal, and is the increase capped?

Things to know before a demo

  • Standard and Custom show a 12-month introductory discount for initial users (EUR 24.90 and 44.90 list).
  • Studio, multi-company and external API need the Custom plan.
  • Odoo Online does not support custom or App Store modules.
  • Support is email, Monday to Friday, in English, French, Spanish or Dutch.
